Race Finisher Certificate Generator

Enter your name, the race and your finish time. We work out your pace and set it all on a certificate you can print and frame, send to family, or post the morning after. It all runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and there is no sign-up.

Finish time

Want the race itself on the wall? Make a race poster with your route map and splits, or turn the whole training block into a book.

Why make your own finisher certificate

Big city marathons often let you download a certificate from the results page, but plenty of races never do: small local races, trail events, virtual races, a first 5K, or the solo long run you turned into your own marathon. Even when an official one exists, it can take weeks to appear or sit behind a results login.

A certificate you make yourself covers every one of those finishes, is ready the same afternoon, and carries exactly the details you want to remember.

What to put on it

Use your chip time (also called net time). It is measured from the moment you crossed the start mat to the moment you crossed the finish, so it is the time you actually ran and the one runners quote. Gun time also counts the minutes spent shuffling to the start line.

Your pace is worked out from the chip time and the race distance, per kilometre or per mile. If you know your overall or age-group place, add it; the date and city turn the sheet into a record of one specific day.

Printing and framing

The certificate is laid out in A4 landscape proportions and prints on A4 or US Letter. Pick “fit to page” and switch off headers and footers in the print dialog. Heavier paper (around 200 gsm, or 80 lb cover stock) looks and feels much better than office paper.

The PNG download is sized for sharing as well as printing, so the same file works in a message to family, on Instagram, or at a print shop. A standard A4 or 8×10 frame holds it with a small mat.

Frequently asked questions

Is the finisher certificate generator free?

Yes. There is no account and no watermark beyond a small Skoma credit at the bottom, and nothing you type leaves your browser. Make as many as you like.

Can I make a certificate for a virtual or solo race?

Yes. Put whatever you ran in the race field, for example “Solo marathon, riverside loop”, and pick the distance or enter a custom one.

Should I use chip time or gun time?

Chip time. It measures only the time between crossing the start and finish mats, so it reflects your run rather than your position in the start corral.

Is this an official race certificate?

No. It is a personal keepsake. Official results and certificates come from the race organiser, and those are what count for things like qualifying times.
